Hand Foot And Mouth Disease In Orange County Hand Foot Mouth Disease 12 Year Old?

Hand foot mouth disease 12 year old? - hand foot and mouth disease in orange county

My 2-year-old daughter had the disease Hand-foot-mouth about 5-6 days. It started with blisters on his hands and feet, then moved to the mouth blisters. Well, complained to my 12-year-old daughter of a sore throat and when I looked in the gorge are not blowing like my 2 years, had in his mouth. She had no blisters on the hands or feet.
Is it possible to get a child at the age of 12, which this disease? I thought it was mainly for children under 4 years.

Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) is caused by a number of enterovirus of the Picornaviridae family. The most common cause is Coxsackie virus. MPB is not to be confused with the hoof of FMD in sheep, cattle and pigs, and it is not related to HFMD (but also caused by a member of the family Picornaviridae).

HFMD usually affects infants and children, and is relatively common. It is highly contagious and is spread through direct contact with mucus or feces of an infected person. As a rule, occurs in small epidemics in nursery schools or kindergartens, usually during the summer and autumn.

HFMD is often misdiagnosed as foot and mouth disease, which, although related, caused by a virus, which rarely containedtransmissible to humans.

There is no specific treatment for hand, foot and mouth disease. Symptoms such as fever, lameness and pain of the blisters can be alleviated by medication. HFMD is a viral disease that must take its course, many doctorsMedicine is not issued for this disease, unless the infection is difficult. Stay in the rule, in the best interest of the child at home until the infection disappears. Reduce the fever, the temperature control to help you. Luke-warm baths will also help the temperature.

Only a small minority admitted to hospital, mainly because of neurological complications (encephalitis, meningitis or acute flaccid paralysis) or pulmonary edema and pulmonary hemorrhage.
