I removed 2 days like today are 39 weeks pregnant and my doctor gave me a test to detect cervical dilation. Not only does it hurt like a B * tch, but now I'm bleeding and cramping and vaginal pain. All I really discovered is that I am 1cm expanded. What was the significance of this test? Was it really necessary?

There's really no reason for the test. You can sit 4cm weeks or a finger, and extends the work of one hour. Some doctors prefer to check to see if they "predict" how long you have, but in reality it means nothing. After 37 weeks, which may literally go "any time" if its long or not.
